Rtn. Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman (MBBS, MPH, PhD) is a distinguished public health expert in Bangladesh, currently serving as Deputy Executive Director and Chief of Health Sector at TMSS Bangladesh, one of the country’s largest NGOs dedicated to serving poor and marginalized communities in 64 districts in Bangladesh. He earned his MBBS from Dinajpur Medical College, University of Rajshahi (2002), followed by an MPH (2006) and a PhD from the Institute of Bangladesh Studies, University of Rajshahi (2013). Dr. Rahman joined TMSS in 2004 as a medical officer and demonstrated exceptional leadership, rising to his current senior positions by 2016, where he oversees comprehensive health sector operations including primary to tertiary level super specialized healthcare, maternal and child health, family planning, telemedicine, cancer center, heart center, comprehensive disability management center and innovative biotechnology initiatives. His key contributions include establishing and leading TMSS Medical College and TMSS Nursing College and 1000 beds TMSS Medical College and Rafatullah Community Hospital along with 17 healthcare and academic institutes in Bangladesh. He also served as a Vice Chairman of Pundra University of Science & Technology. He visited more than 22 countries including Europe, America, Australia and Japan for participating different internation scientific and business meeting. Dr. Rahman has received numerous awards including the Rotary International Award, TMSS Gold Medal for Outstanding Performance. He represents unique blend of medical expertise, public health leadership, and biotechnology innovation that significantly contributes to healthcare accessibility and quality in Bangladesh.
