
Monaemul Islam Sizear is a passionate and accomplished public health professional with 12 years of experience in program design, implementation, technical analysis, and knowledge dissemination, demonstrating proven thought leadership.
His experience spans health policy and financing, health systems strengthening, climate change, WASH, and health-seeking behavior. His contributions have been recognized through publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, including BMC Health Services, BMJ Open, Nature, and PLOS One. He is also a regular contributor to national newspapers and global platforms, sharing insights as a public health storyteller.
Sizear holds three master’s degrees: Anthropology (Rajshahi University), Public Health (James P Grant, USAID Scholar), and Urban Development Policy (Erasmus University, World Bank Scholar). He also earned a certificate course in Health Policy and Financing from KIT Royal Tropical Institute, the Netherlands and professional training from Sweden and Cambodia.
Sizear serves on a 24/7 basis to advance global health systems. He envisions becoming a champion for disadvantaged populations and building grassroots leadership capacity. He is currently the Program Manager at VisionSpring, an international organization dedicated to improving vision for all. He also volunteers as the Executive Director of PHFBD (since June 2025), following four impactful years as Organizing Secretary. In addition, he founded Health Systems Matter, a knowledge platform that showcases his wider commitment to advancing health and make a knowledgeable public health generation.
