Dr. M Tasdik Hasan is a global mental health researcher and public health physician specialising in digital mental health and underserved communities. He is currently completing a PhD at Monash University, co-designing digital tools to support the mental health of Deaf communities in Bangladesh. Recognised as one of eight global digital mental health innovators by the Mental Health Commission of Canada, he has also contributed to Bangladesh’s National Mental Health Strategic Plan (2020–2030).
Tasdik’s work spans three interconnected areas: (1) generating research evidence from low-resource settings to address mental health burdens and the needs of marginalised populations; (2) mentoring emerging scholars worldwide through academic teaching and structured training in global mental health; and (3) engaging in science communication and policy advocacy to promote mental health at national and global levels.
He has authored over 100 publications in peer-reviewed international journals. His contributions have earned several accolades, including the New Voices in Global Health Award (2017), The Lancet Prize (2018), the Digital Mental Health Leadership Excellence Award (2024), and the Study UK Alumni Award 2025 in the Science and Sustainability category. Tasdik applies global mental health frameworks and systems thinking to design inclusive, scalable solutions in LMICs.
