Dr. Farzana Islam is a committed public health professional with over 24 years of diverse experience in teaching, research, and pediatric clinical care. She currently serves in the Department of Public Health and Informatics at Bangladesh Medical University, leading academic and research initiatives focused on health systems and RMNCH, and Consultant (voluntary) at Alo Bhubon Trust. She also holds the position of Organizing Secretary at Public Health Foundation, Bangladesh. She has served as an Adjunct Faculty at BUP and IUBAT. Her academic and professional journey across different countries has deepened her expertise in reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health, infectious disease epidemiology, emergency preparedness, WASH, and climate-related health risks. She has authored manuals, reviewed peer-reviewed journals, and presented at national and international forums. Beyond academia, Dr. Islam actively uses social media to raise awareness about health emergencies, crises, and critical public health issues. Driven by a passion for research, teaching, and social accountability, she is dedicated to transforming evidence into action and strengthening public health systems that are responsive, inclusive, and people-centered.
