Dr. Azizun Nahar earned her M.Phil in Microbiology from Bangladesh Medical University, Dhaka, in January 2011. She began her academic career in 2005 as a Lecturer in Microbiology and has been serving as an Associate Professor at Bangladesh Medical College since August 12, 2018. She has received advanced training in various critical areas, including:

- International Lead Auditor and Laboratory Management System certification (ISO 15189:2022, ISO 19011)
- Teaching methodology and assessment
- Biosafety and biosecurity in biotechnology and clinical care
- Risk assessment and laboratory diagnosis of infectious agents
- Biological safety cabinets: selection, installation, validation, calibration, and certification
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) development and implementation
She has authored 29 national and international publications. She has served as an Executive Editor of the Bangladesh Medical College Journal and is currently a reviewer for the International Journal of Research and Innovation in Applied Science.
