Dr. Aftab Uddin is a seasoned public health professional with four decades of experience in academia, policy, and field implementation. Trained overseas in Australia, the UK, and the USA, he has expertise in health workforce development, quality improvement, primary health care, global health, and planetary health. His academic career includes teaching, research supervision, faculty development, and curriculum enhancement in medical and health institutions. He has provided technical support for scaling quality assurance in medical education and worked extensively with government agencies, UN organizations, NGOs, and development partners like USAID, DfID, and JICA. His interests encompass environment, climate change, and One Health, contributing to policy, program development, and translational research. Currently, he serves as Advisor on Policy and Research at Probha Aurora, focusing on environment, youth empowerment, and sustainable health. His international experience and multidisciplinary collaborations position him as a leader in advancing public and planetary health from grassroots to policy levels.
